Gatwick Aviation Museam Meet

Almost wall to wall sunshine and soaring temperatures for a great bank holiday meet. If you missed it this year, look out for it in the future.

This Aviation Museum has a unique collection of British aircraft from the “golden age” of British aircraft manufacture. From the end of WWII until the 1970’s British aircraft designers produced some of the most innovative and advanced aircraft of the day. From post war to cold war, this museum clearly shows that timeline in aviation terms.

Amongst the list are classic names, Avro, Hawker, Gloster, De Havilland, English Electric, Blackburn, Percival.

Maplehurst and Orchard Farm

Due to a waterlogged field, our Maplehurst meet had to be cancelled unfortunately.

Come and join us in a quiet area of West Sussex in the midst of fields of Deer.
Two pubs near by. Walk to the White Horse or a short drive to the Black Horse. bus stop nearby in Maplehurst Road.

Our previous met at Orchard Farm coincided with a weekend where the weather turned out to be fantastic, 31 units on site and a few sun tans.

A Powertouch remote was found just outside the entrance to the site, so if its yours, please contact Martin at Orchard Farm who is looking after it for you!

Easter Meet and AGM

After avoiding the potential cancellation of the meet due to the dependable British Weather, the Easter meet at Clapham and Patching Village Hall went ahead with a great deal of success, sticking just to the hard standing car park area. Fun and games were had with team building, easter bonnets and a quiz, communal Sunday lunch and of course our AGM where a buffet lunch was provided for all attendees.

Following on from the AGM, we now have a new chairperson, Celia, who has been promoted from vice-chair last year. We wish her well in her new roll and if you have any questions or queries feel free to contact her (look at the contacts page for more details).

Val has taken on the role of Vice-Chair as well as still being Site Secretary, so thank you to her for also taking on some additional work!

We also want to Thank our outgoing Chairman, Pat, for all his hard work and time committed to the DA over the last few years, and although he has stepped down as Chairman, he is still on your committee, so hasn’t managed to escape fully quite yet!
